The 2026 Ruckus in the Rockies - FLORENCE, COLORADO
With the successful comeback of the Ruckus in the Rockies in both 2024 and 2025, the Board decided to try something new for 2026 by selecting a different location “in” the Rockies. We are pleased to announce that the 2026 Ruckus in the Rockies will be held in beautiful Florence, Colorado at Pathfinder Regional Park which is just outside of Canon City, Colorado. Located right along the Arkansas River, this area is a gateway for mountain tourism offering nearby whitewater rafting, hiking, rock climbing, stunning mountain landscapes, and is famous for the nearby Royal Gorge Bridge and railway.
There are many outdoorsy things to see and do before and after the trial. In addition, September is usually prime Fall leaf peeping season in Colorado, and the area should be stunning! Canon City has multiple hotels, RV Parks and Restaurants and is only 10 minutes from the trial site. The closest airport is in Colorado Springs which also offers many sightseeing opportunities including Pikes Peak and Garden of the Gods! The 2025 Ruckus in the Rockies - KIOWA, COLORADo
The Ruckus in the Rockies Trials I & II were held in Kiowa Colorado at the Elbert County Fairgrounds. The trial site has both indoor and undercover barn arenas as well as an onsite RV campground. Our JRTCA sanctioned trials have many sanctioned events such as conformation, racing, go-to-ground, super earth, and youth classes. Non-sanctioned events are barn hunt, Thunder Tunnel, lure coursing and Urban Warfare.
We will also have some fun activities such as fun runs on Friday evening, a costume contest, and a Saturday evening dinner! This will be a fun filled weekend of events for Jack Russells as well as other earthdogs!
