Fun Days are a great time for dogs and owners. Most activities are designed for Jack Russell Terriers, but all dogs are welcome.

What is Fun Day?

Fun Days offer an opportunity for members and friends to come together to have a great day out with their dogs. We have racing, go-to-ground, and lure coursing. Sometimes our friend Jake with Urban Warfare, hunt simulator for dogs, joins us too!

Who can attend?

Fun Day is open to everyone! However, we do have a few restrictions about participating.

Dogs - We welcome all small (terrier-size) dogs for racing and go-to-ground. Big dogs are welcome to try the lure course.

Puppies - You can always bring your puppies and we'll love on them. However, they must be at least 12 weeks old. We want to keep those puppies healthy.

People - Do you love dogs, but you don't happen to have one? Come on out. It's a blast even if you don't have a dog.

How much does it cost to attend?

Member Pricing:

$20.00 - one dog
$25.00 - two dogs
$30.00 - three or more dogs

Non-Member Pricing:

$25.00 - one dog
$30.00 - two dogs
$35.00 - three or more dogs

Do I have to sign a waiver?

You must sign a waiver to participate with your dog(s) at Fun Days. The waiver basically says that you will hold the club, the board, and volunteers harmless for any injury to your dogs, your self, and the people who came with you. We do our best to promote a safe environment for everyone.

Does my dog need to wear a muzzle?

Yes. All dogs who participate in racing must wear a muzzle. Even the most mild-mannered dog gets excited when racing. We require muzzles to prevent the dogs from nipping each other (it can happen). We also require muzzles to keep our volunteers in the catch pen area safe.

What is the schedule?

Remember it's a Fun Day and not a sanctioned trial. The more volunteers we have to set up the quicker we can get started. You're always welcome to come early to help set up or stay late to tear down.

Typical Fun Day Schedule

8:00 am - Set up begins - We'll have coffee and treats! Early fun runs for volunteers!
9:00 am - The registration table opens
9:30 am - Racing orientation for novice racers - muzzles required
9:40 am or after orientation - Racing starts for everyone
12:00 pm - Lunch
12:30 pm - Announcements
1:00 pm - Go to ground, Urban Hunt (when scheduled) and lure course. Go-to-ground will start for everyone after a brief novice orientation
4:00 pm - Tear down

Please volunteer to set up or tear down! We can't do this without your help! We will supply the donuts and coffee!!

Where is Fun Day?

Fun Days are typically located in the metro-Denver area. We will announce the location of each Fun Day when they are booked. Past locations have included Rancho Fiasco and Adams County Fairgrounds.

What about lunch?

We break for lunch between racing and go-to-ground/lure course. Depending on our location this can be a potluck, a food truck, or a club member grilling something good for a small donation.
